About the Artist

Melissa Kerr has degrees in Zoology and Psychology from the University of Wyoming.  She also studied marine biology at the University of Hawaii-Manoa.  Melissa was a zookeeper working with birds, reptiles, sea lions and even insects. Since 2014, she has owned and operated Rock Star Pets Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Services. In 2021, she decided to bring her expertise in pet care to the retail world by opening Rock Star Pet Supplies & Gifts in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. She has a passion for bringing the highest quality products and providing small animal boarding services to pet parents of the Hawaiian Islands. In her free time, Melissa enjoys many forms of art and crafting, including drawing/painting, sewing, writing, and making junk journals. She loves all things Hawaii, animals, and fantasy & science fiction and her artwork reflects those passions.
